Keepmoat House, Estuary Boulevard,
My recommendation would be to steer clear from Keepmoat Homes. We bought a house from Keepmoat Homes in July 2009, and being first time buyers we were very excited and unfortunately, putting all of our trust in Keepmoat Homes, we were a little naive. Keepmoat Homes were full of promises and couldn't be faulted...right up until the point they took our money, then everything changed. Before securing our house with a deposit, the sales person showed us around the show home and pointed out everything that was not included as standard, which is normal and we were happy to pay for upgrades for the features we wanted. When it came to completion, a few things went wrong... Our bathroom had no shower. Like many other people out there we're busy and have no time for a bath on a morning and would consider a shower a necessary part of the bathroom. When we asked why there was no shower the reply we got was that it was not standard and we had not paid to upgrade. When pointing out to Keepmoat Homes that all upgrades in their show home were clearly marked, and the shower clearly wasn't, they refused to comment. What's more, to prevent us from fighting this, Keepmoat Homes threatened to take our deposit and put our house back on the market should we not complete straight away (they did this in writing!). Keepmoat Homes also brought our completion date forward, knowing we were on holiday at the time they wanted to complete. Again they threatened to take our deposit and put our house back on the market should we not do as they say. Our holiday was ruined, spent going back and forth between people at Keepmoat Homes trying to sort this mess out. We did sort things out and put the completion date back to the agreed date, but the problems did not stop there. Keepmoat Homes used a wrong size pipe in the bathroom, causing a flood under the bath which came down through the living room and kitchen walls, ruined our carpet we had just put down and all the time we had spent decorating the living room had gone to waste. Again Keepmoat Homes denied any blame and refused to do anything about it. We wrong to Keepmoat Homes 8 times and received two replies. The first reply we received blamed ourselves, and the second reply we received to our further letter said that Richard Bass, their regional director, was on holiday and would reply upon his return. We received no reply to this or the subsequent 6 letters we sent. Keepmoat Homes recently came out to visit our home after a lot of aggravation recently, and to give them their dues they fixed most problems we had complained about (though it took them a year!). We detailed to Keepmoat Homes all of our losses caused by them, both financial and emotional, including: %u2022 Fitting of new bathroom %u2022 New carpet and underlay %u2022 Costs of electrician and plumber caused by the leak which was their fault %u2022 Costs of topsoil they promised and never provided %u2022 Cost of mortgage on top of rent while we were making our home liveable %u2022 Cost of having to take unpaid leave from work We have now received a letter from Keepmoat Homes offering us £560 to bring the matter to a close. We have STILL not even received an apology from Keepmoat Homes. Keepmoat Homes cost us thousands and this very cheeky offer has not been well received. I'd certainly not recommend Keepmoat Homes to any first time buyers, and I'd not recommend Keepmoat Homes to anybody who is not prepared to spend the next few years of their lives fighting with these people and being stressed to the max. I hope my review is of some help to people!
