Tokyou's is a Japanese noodle bar just outside China town on Berry street. The cafe has separate day and evening menus. Vegetarian dishes include vegetable noodles and vegetable soup.
Located on Renshaw Street, Tokyou is squished between Mei Mei and the Metropoliton. It is last on the string of chinese restaurants of the street near the bombed out church. Nice and central.Menu is extensive. There is choice of Malaysian, Chinese and Japanese food so really you're spoilt for choice. I had one of the steaming hot plates with squid, scallop, salmon, and vegetables. It only had 2 mussels on it though, I expected a few more. Unfortunately this didn't come with rice or noodles so I had to get that seperately but most of the other dishes come with either or, check the menu. However, I have to say the food was very tasty, it was only £6 so good value and affordable for students which I have noticed visit regularly for takeaways. I ordered extra egg fried rice and it came on a massive plate, far too much for me! It was probably one of the best egg fried rice I have had!Cosy but basic layout, it is quite small so beware if going at busy times. Give it a try!

Cheap and cheerful but great quality!Serves freshly cooked Pacific Rim food, mainly noodle based. Choose from Rame, Vermicelli, Hofun, Udon or Yaki-soba noodles (my favourite: the thick Udon noodles, used in Japan and Korea). The restaurant itself is small, so if you can't get a seat go for the Take Away service or better still, let them deliver to your for free and get free prawn crackers, a bottle of water and/or a bottle of coke, depending on how much you spend. The wok fried dishes are excellent, no gloopy ready made sauce with lots of E-numbers in site.Main courses are £4 to £5, the special set meals from £6.50 are particularly good value.

Tokyou offers great value for a quick filling meal before a night out. The menu offers a huge range of noodle dishes and soups which are very reasonably priced. You can easily get a starter, main meal and a drink for a tenner. Be warned the main meals are huge and very filling! The restaurant itself is quite small and can get very busy, however they do also offer both takeaway and delivery services.I have visited numerous times since it opened and had I been writing this 6 months ago would probably have given 5 stars, however on a couple of occasions recently the food has been slightly disappointing, hopefully this is just a temporary blip though and the high standards will return.
